You Can Save Money on Your Reception!
The most popular day for weddings is Saturday. This
day is also the most expensive. If you can be flexible on the
day of the week for your wedding, you can save a lot of money.
Selecting a less popular day enables you to negotiate lower fees
or get some extra "perks" thrown in to your package,
like extra servers, centerpieces, or an upgraded reception room.
Fridays and Sundays are great for this because many sites don't
get a lot of requests for Sunday weddings!

Head Table
The focus of the reception room is traditionally the head
table. Here are some head table tips!
1. Keep centerpieces low.
2. Make sure the table is placed where the DJ can see you.
3. Head table seating is traditionally as shown below:
Something Different:
Rather than having the traditional head table, sit at a large
round with your bridal party and their spouses (or dates). If
you have a large bridal party, this may require more than one
table, but allowing your bridal party to sit with their dates
will make the night enjoyable for them, as well!

Small Receptions
Just because you are having your reception at home or at your church
doesn't mean you can't go festive and gourmet! Have your gourmet
reception meal delivered to your door, from Omaha

Music at the Reception
There is NO doubt that your musician or DJ will make or break your
party. It's tempting to skimp in this area, especially when you
are on a tight budget. Don't do it! Hire the best.
A good DJ or band-leader will make the transitions between reception
events seamless and will have EVERYONE up dancing and celebrating
with you!

Your Wedding Cake |
 |
Tradition says the "bride's cake"
is usually a white layer cake, but today's brides are being VERY
inventive with their cakes! You can get anything from cheesecake
to individual mini cakes for each guest!
Look through the bridal magazines for ideas and clip out the designs
you really like. When you visit the local bakeries ask them if they
can re-create the design for you. Be sure not to limit yourself,
though! Ask the bakery if they have any "specialties"!
